Technology
WiFLi: WiFLi = Wider - Faster – Lighter.
SRAM's WiFLi Technology is based on the compact 2 x 10 or 11 - two front chainrings and 10 or 11 gears in the rear - design inherent in SRAM RED 22, Force 22, Rival 22 and Apex, which delivers a wider range of gears, up to 11-32, than your standard triple, faster shifts through two chainrings and every gear on the rear cassette, and with significant weight savings. WiFLi cassettes are also available for Force CX1.
X-SYNC: SRAM X-SYNC 1x chainrings provide the highest level of performance and durability. The SRAM X-SYNC tall square teeth edges engage the chain earlier than traditional triangle shaped teeth. The sharp and narrow tooth profile, as well as rounded chamfer edges, help manage a deflected chain. To provide the best possible performance in muddy conditions, the X-SYNC chainrings have been designed with mud-clearing recesses for the inner chain links and rollers. Engineered in Germany, X-SYNC rings are an integral part of the SRAM 1x drivetrain. Accept no imitation.
eTap: All of the underlying tech in the new SRAM RED eTap groupset, such as wireless shifting, advanced battery power management, and mechatronics technologies, are meant to serve one ultimate purpose: to facilitate the most intuitive and consistent shifting available. This shift logic is called eTap. Right lever makes it harder, left lever makes it easier, both levers shift the front derailleur. Simple, unmistakable, and intuitive.
Orbit: Orbit technology is an innovative new form of derailleur motion control. It utilises silicon fluid as part of an elegant and ultra-lightweight damper system. Compared to a standard friction clutch system, Orbit technology places no additional resistance on the rear derailleur’s spring when under slow or light movement. This means easier shifting and rear wheel removal. And while riding, the fluid damper reduces chain bounce. It’s rock-solid reliability for both 1x and 2x systems.
